Kelowna, BC – City Councillor Colin Basran filed his campaign papers today at City Hall, beginning his official campaign for Mayor of Kelowna in the 2014 civic election.
“I want to keep Kelowna open for business and continue the momentum of the past three years,” said Basran. “We’ve had great success in the revitalization of our downtown, making timely decisions together as a City Council to move Kelowna forward.”

Basran also spoke on his openness to new ideas and investments to create a connected community by advancing the arts, transit and new partnerships.
“My passion is to make Kelowna a vibrant city, attracting new talent, energy and optimism,” he says. “I’m ready to lead this city into four more years of economic, social and political progress.”
Basran was first elected to City Council in 2011 and serves as a Director for the Regional District of Central Okanagan and as a member of the Airport Advisory Committee, Kelowna Joint Water Committee, and the Uptown Rutland Business Association. Along with his civic duties, Basran is also a realtor with Royal LePage Kelowna.
Passionate about living in a vibrant urban centre, he makes his home in the Pandosy community with his wife Leanne and their two young children.
The Kelowna municipal election is set for November 15.
